In the season 6 episode 13 of Pawn Stars titled "Dirty Sox", the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop owners, Rick Harrison and his father, and his son Corey "Big Hoss" Harrison, along with Austin "Chumlee" Russell are back to their often fascinating and amusing antics. The episode starts with an interesting collection - a rare, complete set of military currency from World War II. As always, the guys call in their expert to authenticate the currency and review its historical significance before considering a deal with the seller. In this case, the seller is looking for close to $4,000 for the complete set, but will the pawn shop owners bite or let it go?

Next up is a curious collection of items owned by a retired air traffic-controller named Jim. He comes in with two very distinct pieces - a World War I German helmet with several shell holes and the remains of the original owner's blood, and a pair of socks worn by the great ballplayer Shoeless Joe Jackson. The helmet is assessed as not having significant value due to it not being a rare type, but the sock's value attracts interest.

Jackson is one of the greats of baseball history who was dismissed from the sport unceremoniously for his alleged involvement in the Black Sox Scandal. With baseball fans looking to own anything related to the scandalous and mysterious baseball story, the Pawn Stars guys are eager to hear more about the sock's unique history. In terms of its value, a pair of Joe Jackson's game-worn shoes recently sold for $500,000, making these socks a potentially valuable find. But the authenticity of the sock needs to be established.

To verify that the socks are indeed owned by Shoeless Joe, the guys invite an expert on baseball memorabilia named Jeremy Brown to authenticate the pair. Brown examines the socks with care and shares his insights - including the difference between right and left sides of the sock, which suggests that this pair has been pieced together from different socks. This finding casts doubt on the authenticity of the socks, and the guys retreat to huddle outside the store for a quick decision.

The next item is a Kiss pinball machine put up for sale by a collector. The machine is a 1970s classic, and the guys are keen to add it to their collection. In order to get a grasp on the value of the item and how much work needs to be done to make it playable again, they call in Tim Arnold, a pinball machine expert. Arnold is taken aback by the machine's poor condition and the extent of its decay. The machine is full of strange modifications and has been subject to various repairs over the years. Despite the extreme damage and value loss, the machine is still worth a few thousand dollars if the pawn shop agrees to invest the necessary time and money into it.

The final item is a vintage brass bed complete with its original fabric, which has been preserved over the years. The bed belongs to a woman who inherited it from her great-grandmother, and it has remained in her family for several generations. Rick is delighted with the beautifully preserved fabric, which is a rare find. The age of the bed and the incredible state of preservation of the fabric ensure that the bed has value.

As always, the guys call in an appraiser to give the bed a formal evaluation and determine its worth. The appraiser is impressed by the condition of the fabric, which has been restored well and appears to be in excellent shape for its age. The bed is valued at around $1,500, which makes it an attractive item, but whether or not the deal will be made is up in the air.

Overall, the "Dirty Sox" episode of Pawn Stars is an entertaining and informative one. The items that come through the doors of the pawnshop are diverse, making for a lively and enjoyable day at the shop with the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop crew. While each deal may not necessarily be signed, sealed and delivered, there is nevertheless plenty of great entertainment value in watching the guys in action as they assess the unique items brought in by their clients.
