Pretty Hard Cases follows two badass female detectives, Sam and Kelly, who are of strikingly different personality types but are still able to work together to solve crimes. They're both phenomenal cops, but their off-duty lives are a hot mess, making for an action-packed show that's equal parts drama and humor. Kelly, as always, provides the wry humor that keeps things grounded, but the case is quickly taking a dark turn, and the detectives soon realize that they're dealing with much more than just a new drug.

As they dig deeper into the case, the bodies continue to pile up, and the detectives find themselves in over their heads. Sam begins to realize that the synthetic drug has the potential to wreak havoc on the community and is desperate to shut down the operation before it spirals even further out of control. But as she races to solve the case, she's forced to confront the ghosts of her past, and her relationship with her sister becomes increasingly strained.
