Prodigal Son's Tom Payne Talks Season 2 + Rach's Maple Pork Chops & Garlicky Mashed Potatoes is the latest episode of Rachael Ray's sixteenth season. In this episode, actress and television host Rachel Ray serves up a hearty meal of Maple Pork Chops and Garlicky Mashed Potatoes while chatting with actor Tom Payne about his role in the popular TV series, Prodigal Son.

Tom Payne plays the character of Malcolm Bright in Prodigal Son, who is a criminal profiler with a unique talent for getting into the heads of some of the most dangerous criminals out there. Rachael talks with Tom about the show's second season and what viewers can expect from the twisted crime drama. Tom also shares with Rachael some details about his experience working on the set of Prodigal Son and how he's been connecting with fans of the show during the pandemic.

While Rachael and Tom chat about the show, Rachael prepares her delicious dinner of Maple Pork Chops and Garlicky Mashed Potatoes. She starts by seasoning the pork chops with salt and pepper before searing them in a hot pan. She then adds in some maple syrup, Dijon mustard and apple cider vinegar along with some chicken stock to create a sweet and tangy glaze. Once the pork chops are cooked through and the glaze has thickened, she sets them aside to rest while she makes the mashed potatoes.

To make the mashed potatoes, Rachael boils some diced Idaho potatoes until they're soft and tender, then drains them and adds in some cream, butter, and minced garlic. She uses a potato masher to mix and mash until the ingredients are combined and the potatoes are creamy and smooth.

Back to talking with Tom, Rachael excitedly shares that she's a big fan of the show and reflected on some of her favorite moments from the dramatic crime series. They also touch on how Tom’s training at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama prepared him for his current and previous roles.

The episode ends with Rachael plating the pork chops and mashed potatoes and enjoying a meal with Tom while they chat some more about Prodigal Son. Viewers are left feeling both entertained and satiated with this lively episode, filled with delectable food and intriguing conversation between Tom and Rachael.
