Franklin County, Alabama is the location for this episode of River Monsters - Monster Scars. Hosted by Jeremy Wade, he investigates a mysterious creature that is responsible for a series of attacks on humans.

The episode starts with Jeremy meeting two men who have had a terrifying experience while fishing in the area. As they were standing in the water, they felt something bumping into their legs, and then suddenly they were attacked. Both men were injured and had scars from the creature's teeth.

Jeremy's investigation takes him downriver to the location of the attack. He is joined by biologist Zeb Hogan who is familiar with the area and the creatures that inhabit the waters. They hear stories from locals about the creature that has been attacking people and causing chaos, including claims that it has killed pets and livestock.

The team begins their search by using a drone to scan the river. They spot a large object under the water that could be the creature they are looking for. Jeremy then uses his fishing skills to try and catch the creature but has little luck.

Undeterred, the team sets up a trap using a live bait dummy to attract the creature. They hide and wait for something to happen. Suddenly, they hear activity in the water, and the trap has been tripped. They rush to the location and find that the bait has been partially eaten by a very large predator.

Jeremy carefully examines the bite marks left on the bait and concludes that they match the scars found on the injured fishermen. He believes that this is the same creature that attacked the men. But what kind of monster lies beneath the water?

To answer that question, Jeremy calls in a unique team of specialists - a group of forensic dentists. They analyze the bite marks and conclude that they are the work of a large fish, possibly a catfish. However, some of the scars don't quite match up with a conventional catfish bite.

The investigation takes a thrilling turn when the team receives a tip-off that an angler has caught a large catfish in the same area where the attacks took place. They examine the catch and are surprised to find that this is no ordinary catfish. The fish is much larger than usual and has some unusual features that set it apart.

Jeremy and Zeb believe that they have finally found the culprit and set up another trap to try and catch it. The team waits through the night, but to their disappointment, there is no activity at the trap. They wonder if they have missed their chance to catch the creature.

Despite the setback, they don't give up. They explore another stretch of the river, and Jeremy puts his skills to the test once again. This time he is rewarded when he catches a massive fish that he believes is the same creature that attacked the fishermen. The fish is different from any he has caught before, and it has some unique features that suggest it may be a previously undiscovered species.

The team examines the fish and discovers that it has scars that match the bite marks left on the bait and the injured fishermen. The forensic dentists also analyze the fish's teeth and confirm that they match the bite marks.

The episode concludes with Jeremy and the team releasing the fish back into the river, but not before they tag it with a tracking device. They hope that this will provide more information about the creature's behavior and habits.
