Ep 5. Broad Daylight

In this episode of Rookie Blue, titled "Broad Daylight," the officers of the 15th division are faced with some difficult challenges while out on patrol.

Andy McNally (Missy Peregrym) and her partner, Sam Swarek (Ben Bass), find themselves in the middle of a dangerous situation when they respond to a home invasion call. While there, they discover that the homeowner is a retired cop who is suffering from Alzheimer's disease and has accidentally shot his own son. With the shooter still on the loose, Andy and Sam must navigate through a complicated web of family secrets in order to find the suspect before it's too late.

Meanwhile, Gail Peck (Charlotte Sullivan) and Dov Epstein (Gregory Smith) are on the hunt for a missing woman who has a history of drug abuse. As they search the city, they discover that she may have fallen back into her old habits and could be in serious danger. Frustrated with their lack of progress, Gail takes matters into her own hands and decides to go undercover in an attempt to find the missing woman.

Elsewhere, Chris Diaz (Travis Milne) and his partner, Traci Nash (Enuka Okuma), stumble upon a potential case of child abuse while on patrol. When they investigate further, they discover that the suspect is not only the child's mother, but also a prominent member of the community. With their hands tied by bureaucracy, Chris and Traci must find a way to protect the child and bring the perpetrator to justice.

As the day wears on, tensions rise and mistakes are made. The officers of the 15th division must rely on each other to get through the challenges they face, and in the end, they are left wondering if they made the right choices. "Broad Daylight" is a gripping episode of Rookie Blue that showcases the complexity and danger inherent in police work.
