In Rookie Blue season 3 episode 3, titled "A Good Shoot," viewers are once again thrown into the chaotic world of five rookie police officers as they begin to find their way through the perils of the job. The episode opens with Andy McNally (Missy Peregrym) and Dov Epstein (Gregory Smith) on patrol, with Andy feeling anxious about their upcoming firearms training.

Despite her nerves, Andy successfully completes the training and is feeling more confident until they are called to a domestic disturbance between a man and his wife. When they arrive on the scene, the man is visibly agitated and refuses to cooperate with the officers. After a struggle, the man pulls out a gun and points it at Andy.

Without hesitation, Andy fires her weapon, hitting the man in the leg. While it's deemed a "good shoot" by the department, it still takes its toll on Andy, causing her to question whether she's cut out for the job.

Meanwhile, Chris Diaz (Travis Milne) and Gail Peck (Charlotte Sullivan) are investigating a string of car thefts in the area. They eventually find a vehicle with a GPS device still attached, leading them to the thieves' hideout. Chris and Gail are able to arrest the thieves, but not before Chris sustains a minor injury.

Elsewhere, Traci Nash (Enuka Okuma) and Sam Swarek (Ben Bass) are investigating a break-in at an apartment building. They discover that the break-in was initiated by a young couple who were desperate for money. Traci and Sam are able to catch the couple before they flee, but not before Traci becomes emotionally involved in their situation.

Finally, Noelle Williams (Melanie Nicholls-King) is dealing with her own personal issues when her ex-husband shows up at the precinct and demands to see their son. While Noelle tries to keep her cool, it's clear that her ex is causing a great deal of stress.

Overall, "A Good Shoot" is a tense and emotional episode that highlights the dangers and challenges of police work. The episode does an excellent job of showing the toll that these types of situations can take on officers, both physically and emotionally. Through their struggles, the characters continue to grow and develop, making them all the more relatable to viewers.
