Shugo Chara! Season 1 Episode 21 Episode 21 - Kidnapping of Guardian Characters!
- December 22, 2008
Amu's Guardian Characters are excitedly chatting with her early in the morning, but Amu is exhausted and wants to go back to sleep. She finally tells them that it's because she stayed up late reading a book. The Guardian Characters are shocked -- Amu hates reading. Amu doesn't understand why they're so surprised. She has always hated reading, and the fact that she stayed up so late reading is proof to her that she must have liked the book.
Later, at school, Amu finds out that Nadeshiko's family has to move back to the Toudou household in Kyoto. Everyone is upset, especially Amu. She knows how important Nadeshiko and her performing arts family are to the Guardians and to Tadase, who secretly has a crush on Nadeshiko.
That night, Amu dreams that her three Guardian Characters are kidnapped by an Egg with a top hat and tails. When she wakes up, she realizes that the dream is real. The top-hat Egg has indeed kidnapped Ran, Miki, and Su.
Amu tries to transform, but her eggs are missing as well. She realizes that the top-hat Egg has taken everything associated with her Guardian Characters. She soon discovers that all the other Guardians' eggs are missing as well.
The top-hat Egg contacts the Guardians and demands that they all come to an isolated, haunted house that night. If they refuse, their eggs will be destroyed. Everyone is terrified of the haunted house, including Tadase, who has a deep fear of ghosts.
Despite their fears, all the Guardians travel to the haunted house, where they face traps and challenges before finding the room where the top-hat Egg is holding their eggs. The Egg reveals that he wants the Guardian Characters to help him perform a special magic trick. If they refuse, he will destroy their eggs.
Amu and the other Guardians agree to help, and they free their Guardian Characters. The magic trick goes smoothly, with the Guardians serving as the Egg's assistants. The Egg is visibly pleased with the performance, but he still refuses to give the eggs back to their rightful owners.
The Guardians are about to attack the top-hat Egg in order to get their eggs back, but Amu intervenes. She suggests that they use the power of the transformation to break the curse on the Egg and turn him back into his true form.
The Guardians transform, and their transformations break the curse and reveal that the top-hat Egg is actually a grown man who was once a famous magician. He explains to the Guardians that he was jealous of the true friendship and teamwork that they had with their Guardian Characters. He wanted to be a part of that type of friendship, but he didn't have a Guardian Character of his own.
The man apologizes for his actions and returns the eggs to their rightful owners. The Guardians forgive him and invite him to become their friend. In the end, Nadeshiko's family moves back to the Toudou house after all, and the Guardians continue to protect their school and each other.
