In the penultimate episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, entitled "The Dogs of War," tensions between the Federation and the Dominion heighten as Odo returns to the Great Link to convince the Founders to end the war. Meanwhile, Sisko begins rallying the Bajoran people to prepare for a Dominion invasion, which he believes is imminent.

After Odo's return, the Founders reveal to him a secret about the war that could change everything. The Defiant is deployed to infiltrate a Dominion-controlled planet, where they encounter a group of Jem'Hadar soldiers who have been cut off from the Dominion. With the Defiant's help, they attempt to negotiate a peace with the Dominion.

Meanwhile, back on Deep Space Nine, the Ferengi leader Grand Nagus Zek arrives with news that the Dominion has officially recognized Ferenginar as an independent state. While Quark and Rom are initially thrilled, they soon discover that the Dominion's motives are not entirely selfless.

As the Dominion fleet approaches, Sisko must work to unite the Bajoran people in a final stand against the Dominion. Dukat, now aligned with the Pah-wraiths, arrives on the station and begins to wreak havoc on the preparations for war.

"The Dogs of War" is a suspenseful and action-packed episode that sets the stage for the series finale. As the war between the Federation and the Dominion comes to a head, the stakes are higher than ever before. Will Odo's mission to the Great Link be successful? Will Sisko and his crew be able to successfully defend Deep Space Nine? These questions and more will be answered in the epic final episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
