Ep 18. The Light

SG-1 steps through the Stargate and finds themselves on a barren planet. They quickly discover an alien structure, and Sam, Daniel, and Teal'c enter to explore it. Once inside, they find themselves in a room with a bright, intense light emanating from a pillar in the center. The light seems to have an intoxicating effect on them, causing them to feel euphoric and forget their mission.

Back on Earth, Hammond is concerned about their lack of communication and sends another team through the Stargate to find SG-1. This team includes Major Davis, who brings news that the NID has discovered the Stargate program and is looking for a way to take control of it.

Meanwhile, SG-1 remains trapped in the structure on the alien planet, completely under the power of the light. As they begin to lose their sense of reason, Jack becomes increasingly frustrated with their lack of progress and begins to argue with Sam and Daniel.

Eventually, Teal'c realizes that the light is controlling them and uses his Jaffa training to resist its effects. He manages to snap the rest of the team out of their trance, and they work together to escape the structure and return to Earth.

Back at the SGC, they regroup and discuss what they have learned. Daniel realizes that the light was a trap, designed to lure in unsuspecting travelers and control their minds. They decide to destroy the structure to prevent anyone else from falling under its spell.

In the closing scene, the team discusses the NID threat and their need to remain vigilant against those who would abuse the power of the Stargate. They also acknowledge the importance of relying on each other and their training to stay strong in the face of danger.
