Ep 11. Back from the Future - Part One

Kara and her team face another daunting challenge in season 5 episode 11 of Supergirl: Back from the Future - Part One. The episode begins with a flashback to three years earlier when Brainiac-5 broke up with his fiancée, Nia Nal's (aka Dreamer's) ancestor, Nura Nal. This emotional scene sets the tone for the events to come.

Cut to the present day, and we see Brainy struggling with the aftermath of his actions in the previous episode, which led to the apparent death of his best friend, Querl Dox, in the 31st century. While grappling with the guilt of leaving his friend behind, Brainy receives a surprising visit from Winn Schott, his old friend from the future and former tech genius at the DEO. Winn has come to the past to seek Brainy's help in stopping a new villain, who appears to be a copycat of the Toyman.

Together, Brainy and Winn attempt to track down the imposter Toyman and stop him before he causes more destruction. However, their mission is complicated by the fact that Toyman is targeting the children of some of Kara and Winn's former colleagues at CatCo. The stakes are raised when Toyman's true identity is revealed and it is a person from Winn's past with a grudge against him.

Meanwhile, Kara and Alex are dealing with their own personal struggles as they try to process the recent news that Jeremiah Danvers, their father figure, has died. This revelation brings up painful memories and emotions for both sisters, leading them to lean on each other for support.

Beyond this, Back from the Future - Part One sets up several intriguing storylines that will undoubtedly play out in the remaining episodes of the season. Lena Luthor continues to work on her project to eradicate human emotions, with her brother Lex lurking in the shadows. J'onn J'onzz discovers a surprising connection to the Martian god of death and begins to question his own purpose. And, of course, we are left wondering what will happen with Brainy and Winn's mission to stop the nefarious Toyman copycat.

Overall, Back from the Future - Part One is a satisfying episode that combines action and emotion in equal measure. It sets the stage for some exciting developments in the rest of the season, while also allowing each character to shine in their own way. Fans of Supergirl will not be disappointed!
