Ep 6. Confidence Women

Supergirl season 5 episode 6, titled "Confidence Women," follows our heroine as she attempts to navigate a new threat to National City. Lena Luthor is up to something, and while Supergirl wants to believe the best in her friend, she can't shake the feeling that something is off.

Meanwhile, a new villain has come to town: Midnight, a femme fatale with the ability to control people's minds using a pheromone-based perfume. Supergirl and company soon learn that Midnight is working for Lena, and that Lena has created the perfume as part of a larger plot to take down her brother, Lex.

The episode explores themes of trust, identity, and power dynamics, as Supergirl grapples with her own sense of self-worth and investigates Lena's increasingly shady behavior. We get glimpses into Lena's past, and see how her relationship with her brother has shaped her into the person she is today.

At the same time, we see Supergirl struggle with her own insecurities, both as a hero and as a human being. She questions whether she's doing enough to help the people of National City, and whether she's deserving of the adoration she receives from her fans.

The action sequences in "Confidence Women" are top-notch, and we see Supergirl face off against Midnight several times throughout the episode. We also get the introduction of a new character, Kelly Olsen, who is working with Lena on her project. Kelly is the sister of James Olsen, and we learn that she has a background in the military and is an expert in augmented reality.

The episode ends on a cliffhanger, with Lena and Supergirl coming face-to-face and Lena finally revealing her true intentions. It's a tense, emotional scene that leaves us eagerly anticipating the next episode.

Overall, "Confidence Women" is a strong addition to the Supergirl canon. It touches on important themes and moves the larger narrative forward in a satisfying way. The performances are excellent, particularly from Melissa Benoist and Katie McGrath as Supergirl and Lena, respectively. And the action is exciting and well-choreographed. This is definitely an episode worth watching for fans of the show.
