Ep 7. Tremors

Supergirl season 5 episode 7, titled “Tremors,” opens with Kara (aka Supergirl) getting used to a new normal at CatCo since her former boss Cat Grant left the company. She works alongside new boss Andrea Rojas, who is already proving to be a bit of a challenge as she pushes for clickbait headlines and questionable news stories. Meanwhile, Lena Luthor is still grappling with her betrayal by Kara, who kept her Supergirl secret from her for years.

As Kara navigates her professional life, a new threat arises in National City. A mysterious creature is causing seismic waves and wreaking havoc around the city. Alex and J’onn J’onzz (aka Martian Manhunter) investigate the disturbances, while Supergirl flies out to try and contain the creature.

The team soon learns that the creature is a Harun-El-enhanced parasite, similar to the one that had infected Lena in a previous season. The parasite has attached itself to a young girl named Sophie and is causing her to produce the tremors. Sophie’s father, a scientist named Dr. Stephan, had been experimenting with Harun-El in the hopes of helping his sick daughter but inadvertently created the parasite.

As the team works to stop the parasite, they also face internal conflicts. Lena reluctantly agrees to work with Andrea on a project and feels uncomfortable with the ethical implications. Meanwhile, Alex receives a letter from her mother, Eliza, who wants to reconnect after their strained relationship in previous seasons.

The episode climaxes in a tense confrontation as Supergirl and J’onn fight off the parasite and try to save Sophie. Lena and Andrea’s project takes a dark turn, and Alex grapples with whether or not to forgive her mother for past mistakes.

Overall, “Tremors” offers a thrilling new villain and explores the ongoing conflicts and character development of the series. As always, the show balances action with emotional depth and leaves viewers anticipating what’s to come.
