Survive This is a children's adventure reality television series that immerses young competitors in extreme wilderness situations to teach them survival skills. Season 2 episode 10, entitled "Set Adrift," follows eight contestants as they're placed on a desert island and put to the test.
The episode opens with host Les Stroud introducing the challenge for the day: the contestants will be given a small boat and sent out to sea to find their way back to the island. They'll have to navigate treacherous waters and stay afloat in their rickety vessel while battling the elements.
The group is split into two teams, and each is given a different route to take. As they set off, they quickly realize that their boats are barely seaworthy and that they'll have to work together if they're going to make it back to the island.
As they get further away from shore, the contestants encounter all manner of hazards—rough waves, strong currents, and even a school of sharks circling their boat. Panic sets in, and tensions run high as the teams struggle to navigate their way back to safety.
Eventually, both teams make it back to the island—but not without plenty of drama and some close calls. Exhausted, wet, and shaken, they're met by Les, who congratulates them on a job well done.
But the day isn't over yet. Les informs the contestants that they'll be spending the night on the island and that they'll have to build their own shelter and find their own food. Armed with only the most basic tools, the teams set out to forage for food and construct crude shelters out of the island's natural resources.
As they work, the contestants reflect on the lessons they've learned and how their experience on the show has changed them. They talk about the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and problem-solving skills, and how they've learned to push themselves beyond their limits in order to survive.
As the sun sets and the contestants settle down for the night, they're tired but proud of what they've achieved. They've proven to themselves—and to each other—that they have what it takes to survive in even the most challenging of situations.
