Ep 6. Collection Completed

Tales From the Crypt is an anthology horror series that presents a different chilling tale each episode. Season 1 episode 6, "Collection Completed," follows the story of a man named Harold (M. Emmet Walsh) who has just retired and is trying to find purpose in his life now that he no longer has a job. He becomes obsessed with his collection of stuffed animals and decides to add a human specimen to his collection.

Harold's wife, Eunice (Audra Lindley), is unaware of his plans and speaks to her friend about her husband's odd behavior, but dismisses her concerns. Harold talks to his taxidermist friend, Mr. Benjamin (Danny De La Paz), who agrees to help him carry out his plan. They lure a young delivery man, Farwell (Bill Macy), to their home and the disturbing process of turning him into a stuffed animal takes place.

As Harold becomes more obsessed with his collection and preserving Farwell's body, Eunice becomes increasingly disturbed by what her husband has become. She attempts to reason with him, but Harold is determined to add more humans to his collection. Eunice and Harold's relationship deteriorates as he becomes more and more consumed by his twisted hobby.

The tension builds as Eunice tries to escape Harold's grasp and stop him from claiming another victim. The episode culminates in a shocking twist that leaves the viewer questioning if Harold will ever be able to satisfy his insatiable desire for his collection.

"Collection Completed" is a disturbing and twisted episode that showcases the dark side of obsession and the lengths some people will go to pursue their passions. It is a cautionary tale about the dangers of losing oneself in a hobby or interest to the point of losing sight of reality and what is truly important in life. The performances by the cast are superb, with M. Emmet Walsh delivering a chilling portrayal of a man who has lost touch with reality and Audra Lindley providing a heart-wrenching performance as a wife who is powerless to stop her husband's descent into madness.
