Ep 10. Instinct

Johnny Smith has been through his fair share of traumatic experiences and seen his fair share of eccentric personalities throughout his vision-laden journey in The Dead Zone, season 3 episode 10, titled Instinct. This time, Johnny encounters a young woman named J.J. Fischer, who believes she is being stalked by her deceased, abusive husband. Meanwhile, Johnny's psychic abilities also show him that J.J. is a potential target of a different kind, as the woman falls victim to a bizarre murder.

As Johnny tries to save J.J. from the threat that seems to loom over her, he has to convince her that her deceased husband is not the one after her. It takes some effort on his part to convince her that her intuition is leading her in the wrong direction. After observing Johnny acutely, J.J. starts to believe him and asks him for help in getting to the bottom of the real threat.

They soon discover that a vicious predator who preys on young, vulnerable women is stalking J.J. They start to build a case against the predator, but things take an unprecedented turn when Johnny has a vision of J.J. as the predator's next target.

Johnny's vision is quite disturbing, making him believe that the predator is not only after J.J. but also his own son, JJ, who is quite vulnerable because of his mother's recent absence. This makes Johnny even more determined to catch the predator before it's too late.

Johnny gathers a team of investigators, consisting of his friend and confidant, Walt Bannerman; a quirky, but brilliant, scientist, Sarah Bracknell; and J.J. Fischer herself, who has a solid motive and a raw courage that allows her to confront her strongest fears.

As they race against time to save the abducted women, they learn to rely on their own instincts and intuition to catch the predator. It takes quite a bit of effort on their part to crack the predator's modus operandi, but their hard work finally pays off, and they manage to catch the serial killer.

The team takes pride in their successes, and Johnny feels a sense of closure after helping J.J. come to terms with her own intuition and saving his son's own fate. The episode gives us a glimpse of the severe scars that abusive relationships leave on the victims. Johnny's concern and compassionate nature help him gain J.J.'s trust and enable him to help her confront her nightmares.

The Dead Zone, season 3 episode 10, Instinct, delves into the essence of intuition and its role in our lives. It shows us the importance of trusting our instincts and the power they hold in navigating our lives.
