"The Detectives" is a documentary show featuring the work of a serious crime's division of the Greater Manchester Police in the north of England. The show provides a high level of access to the work of a number of detectives who are looking for the truth behind allegations of abuse made against a former celebrity for crimes he committed more than 30 years earlier. This documentary looks at the facts of how the detectives involved embark upon any investigation where the claims are historic and include a lack of physical or video evidence to support the claims of the accused or accuser. Each episode of the show focuses on a different aspect of the case against DJ Ray Teret, from the initial investigation to the three day interrogation of the accused that took place after a thorough investigation. The final episode shows how the case plays out when it moves from an investigation to the courts for a final judgment to be passed on the case built by the police.
