The FBI Files is a riveting crime show that details the most heinous and perplexing cases that the FBI has ever encountered. Comprised of real-life footage and re-enactments, the show gives viewers a glimpse into the inner workings of the FBI as agents race to solve high-stakes cases.

Season 7, episode 7 of The FBI Files is titled "Deadly Payout". This gripping episode introduces viewers to a brutal crime that took place in Virginia in 1988.

The victim was a 33-year-old armored car guard named Michael Wise. Wise was ambushed by two robbers outside of a Fidelity Bank in Norfolk, Virginia. The robbers brutally murdered Wise and made off with over $260,000 in cash.

The FBI quickly launched an investigation into the crime and began interviewing witnesses and searching for clues. They discovered that the robbers had been planning the heist for months and that they had carefully chosen their target.

The FBI also uncovered evidence that suggested that the robbers may have been involved in other crimes, including a string of bank robberies in the area. While they weren't able to definitively link the crimes, the FBI knew they were dealing with dangerous and experienced criminals.

As the investigation continued, the FBI began to focus on a suspect named Christopher DiMillo. DiMillo had a lengthy criminal record and had been involved in several bank robberies in the past. He was eventually arrested and charged with Wise's murder.

Despite DiMillo's arrest, the FBI knew that there was still work to be done. They needed to find the second suspect involved in the crime and recover the stolen money.

With the help of new forensic technology, the FBI was able to identify the second suspect as a man named Michael Registe. Registe was living in Jamaica at the time and was known to be involved in organized crime.

The FBI launched an international manhunt for Registe, and after several months of searching, they were finally able to track him down in Jamaica. The FBI worked with local authorities to apprehend Registe and bring him back to the United States to face trial.

The trial of Christopher DiMillo and Michael Registe was one of the most high-profile cases in Virginia's history. The prosecution presented a mountain of evidence linking the two men to the crime, including eyewitness testimony, DNA evidence, and surveillance footage.

Despite their best efforts, however, the defense was able to poke holes in the prosecution's case. They argued that the evidence was circumstantial and that there was no definitive proof that DiMillo and Registe were involved in the crime.

In the end, the jury was deadlocked and a mistrial was declared. The case against DiMillo and Registe was eventually dropped due to a lack of evidence.

"Deadly Payout" is a harrowing reminder of the dangers that armored car guards face every day. It's also a testament to the tireless work of the FBI, who never give up on bringing criminals to justice.

Overall, this episode is an excellent addition to The FBI Files. It's well-paced, informative, and suspenseful, and it provides a fascinating glimpse into the world of criminal investigations.
