The Idolmaster is a Japanese anime cartoon that appeared in 2007. The central plot of The Idolmaster is that it deals with training 13 female pop idols on how to become a star in the Japanese entertainment industry. 765 Production, a talent agency, has a large studio and a small office. A viewer follows their struggles, triumphs and adventures that are supposed to be part of the girls' journey. A viewer should cheer for these girls as they try to make it to the top of the music industry. This show only had 26 episodes that were produced by a company called Sunrise and directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai. There was a TV anime series of the same name that was directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai and produced by A-1 Pictures. This version had 25 episodes that were broadcast in 2011 on TBS. All versions of this TV show were partly inspired by a video game where a person controlled the singers and helped them win.

The day of the New Year?s concert finally comes. The producer is still recovering and when Kotori goes to check in on him, he asks a favor of her. Meanwhile, the idols are excited that this will be the largest concert they've ever done, and each of them have now found what it means to be an idol to them. 765 Production finally stand on stage together for this large production.

Chihaya is able to stand in front of a crowd once again after receiving help from her friends and Haruka. She gives an interview about what really happened in her past so she can get back to work. 765 is now stronger than ever, but Kuroi of 961 Production isn't pleased about that fact and plans to set his final trap in a concert the girls and Jupiter will appear in.

Due to the shock from the article, laced with malice, Cihhaya loses her voice. As she has lost her voice, she does not want to continue to be an idol and stops going to the office. Haruka, worried, visits Chihaya in her apartment where she lives alone...

The 765 idols appear in a live show "Live?! On Sundays." Haruka, Miki and Chihaya anchor the program. Hibiki has a segement where she attempts some sort of challenge every week. Yukiho has a "Let's Change Kikuchi Makoto" segement, and Ami and Mami have short skits that they do--there's a bunch going on in this show. The idols show their stuff while crazy things happen because it's all live!

But the members of Ryuuguu Komachi were at a small concert in the countryside and got caught in a typhoon. The bullet trains have stopped running, and they're not sure they can make it back. But the other idols, in comparison, have nothing to do at all. The producer starts to panic seeing what's going on, and promises to get the girls a bunch of work, but all of that enthusiasm doesn't exactly pay off...

Each of the idols show off their specialties as the producer watches, but Chihaya has trouble with the comedy-like style of the program. They all head towards the village where they're going to perform with high hopes, but when they arrive, they find themselves deep in the mountains, in a village with an extremely rural feel. The youth organization that comes to greet them, filled with men, only further amplifies Yukiho's stage fright...
