Ep 9. Pig and Small

As a veterinary doctor, Dr. Pol carries a lot of responsibility and faces numerous challenges every day at his clinic in rural Michigan. In season 18, episode 9, entitled "Pig and Small," viewers join Dr. Pol as he navigates the ups and downs of his profession.

The episode begins with Dr. Pol treating a potbelly pig who is suffering from a nasty case of mites. The pig's owner is distraught and desperately seeking help for her beloved animal. Dr. Pol gets to work immediately, examining the pig and prescribing a treatment plan to alleviate the mites. Later on in the episode, viewers see Dr. Pol checking in on the pig's progress and making sure that she is healing properly.

Next, Dr. Pol encounters a miniature Dachshund named LuLu who is also in need of his expertise. LuLu is experiencing a cough and her owner is concerned that it could be something serious. Dr. Pol examines LuLu and discovers that she has a heart murmur. He prescribes medication for the condition and advises the owner on how to properly care for LuLu's health moving forward.

As the episode progresses, Dr. Pol faces new challenges, including a young couple who bring in their dog for a grooming, only to discover that the groomer has not only neglected the dog's coat but also injured him in the process. The couple is outraged and Dr. Pol does his best to calm them down while also treating the dog's injuries.

In addition to all of these cases, Dr. Pol also works with other animals, including horses and small rodents. Meanwhile, Dr. Brenda and Dr. Emily are also hard at work, treating cases ranging from a cow with a difficult birth to a rabbit with an abscess.

Throughout the episode, viewers get a sense of the incredible variety of cases that Dr. Pol and his team handle on a daily basis. They also witness the compassion and care that Dr. Pol puts into every case, no matter how big or small.

"Pig and Small" is a prime example of the heart and dedication that sets Dr. Pol apart as a veterinary doctor. Viewers will no doubt be on the edge of their seats as they watch Dr. Pol and his team navigate through one challenge after another.
