Ep 3. The Evil Inside

The Killer Beside Me is a true crime documentary series that explores cases in which someone close to the victim, such as a friend or family member, was actually the perpetrator of the crime. However, he claimed that he had nothing to do with Terri's disappearance and refused to cooperate with the investigation.

Despite Long's denials, Moura and his team were able to gather enough evidence to charge him with Terri's murder. They found blood evidence in his car that matched Terri's DNA, as well as other items that linked him to the crime. Long eventually confessed to killing Terri, but claimed that he did it in a fit of rage and didn't remember the details.

The truly disturbing aspect of Long's case, however, is what was discovered after his arrest. While searching his home, police found evidence that he had tortured and killed multiple other women. In fact, he was eventually convicted of eight murders and sentenced to death. Long's dark past and violent tendencies had been hidden beneath a façade of normalcy, and it was only through the perseverance of Detective Moura and his team that justice was served.

"The Evil Inside" is a chilling reminder that sometimes the most dangerous criminals are the people we least suspect. Through interviews with Terri's family, law enforcement officials, and experts on criminal behavior, viewers are able to gain insight into the mind of Bobby Joe Long and the factors that led him to become a serial killer. The episode serves as both a cautionary tale and a tribute to the tireless efforts of those who work to bring justice to the victims of these heinous crimes.
