First up, Jeff Mauro makes a hearty lasagna soup that is sure to please the whole family. He starts with browning some Italian sausage in a large pot, then adds vegetables like onions, carrots and celery to make a flavorful base. He adds crushed tomatoes and beef broth to create a rich broth, and then adds lasagna noodles to the pot. Once the noodles are cooked, he tops each bowl with a dollop of ricotta cheese and some fresh basil.

Katie Lee shares her recipe for chicken pot pie with biscuit topping. She starts by sautéing onions, carrots and celery, then adds diced chicken breast to the pot. She adds some flour to create a roux, which thickens the sauce. She adds chicken broth and heavy cream to create a creamy sauce, and then adds frozen peas and corn to the pot. To complete the dish, she makes a quick biscuit topping with flour, butter, buttermilk, and cheese. She drops spoonfuls of the biscuit dough on top of the stew, and then bakes everything in the oven until the biscuits are golden brown.

Geoffrey Zakarian shares his recipe for a classic French dish, cassoulet. He starts by cooking bacon in a large Dutch oven, then adds diced onion and celery to the pot. He adds some white wine and chicken broth to create a flavorful base, and then adds white beans, duck confit, and sausage to the pot. He simmers everything together until the beans are tender and the flavors have melded together. He tops the dish with breadcrumbs and cooks it in the oven until the breadcrumbs are golden brown and crispy.

Sunny Anderson shares her recipe for a hearty and healthy stuffed acorn squash. She starts by roasting halved acorn squash in the oven until they are tender. Then, she sautés ground turkey with onions, garlic, and mushrooms, and adds in cooked quinoa and kale. She mixes everything together to create a flavorful filling for the squash. She stuffs the squash halves with the filling, and then bakes everything in the oven until the filling is hot and the tops of the squash are lightly browned.

Finally, Jeff Mauro shares a decadent recipe for winter indulgence - hot chocolate bread pudding. He starts by whisking together eggs, heavy cream, and chocolate chips, and then pours the mixture over some stale bread. He lets the mixture soak into the bread for a few minutes, and then bakes everything in the oven until the bread is custardy and the chocolate chips are melted. He tops the dish with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and chopped nuts for a truly indulgent dessert.

With all these delicious recipes, The Kitchen's Warming Winter Meals episode is sure to keep you cozy and satisfied throughout the winter months.
