Ep 1. Into the Storm

In the first episode of Tin Man season 1, "Into the Storm," we are introduced to DG, a spunky and headstrong young woman who lives in a futuristic version of Kansas called the O.Z. (Outer Zone). DG grew up on her family's farm with her parents and beloved dog, but after her mother died mysteriously, she was sent away to a boarding school and never saw her family again.

Now all grown up, DG is working as a waitress and dreaming of escape. She longs to find her family and discover the truth about her mother's death. One stormy night, after her shift at the diner, DG is driving home when she is struck by a tornado. When she wakes up, she finds herself in a strange world, far from home.

DG soon realizes that she has been transported to the O.Z., a magical and dangerous place filled with strange creatures, powerful witches, and warring factions. She is rescued from a group of vicious longcoats (the O.Z.'s equivalent of guards or soldiers) by a handsome and mysterious man named Cain, who wears a large metal badge on his chest.

Cain is initially reluctant to help DG, but when they are both attacked by a savage monster called a "Zombie" (not your typical undead creature), he takes her under his wing. Together, they set off on a journey through the O.Z. to try to find a way for DG to get back home.

Along the way, they encounter a number of strange and colorful characters, including a shapeshifting tutor named Glitch, a heartless queen named Azkadellia who rules over the O.Z.'s most powerful kingdom, and a gentle giant called Raw who has the ability to communicate with animals.

As DG and Cain travel farther into the O.Z., they discover that Azkadellia is searching for something called the Emerald of the Eclipse, a powerful artifact that would give her even greater control over the land. DG senses that this emerald might be the key to her own escape, and she makes it her mission to find it before Azkadellia can.

Throughout "Into the Storm," we see flashes of DG's past life on Earth as she grapples with the strange and fantastical nature of the O.Z. She is haunted by visions of her mother's death and by a mysterious woman in a suit who seems to be tracking her across both worlds.

As the episode draws to a close, DG and her newfound friends discover a hidden portal that they believe could lead DG back home. But before they can use it, they are ambushed by Azkadellia and her army. The group is forced to fight for their lives in a thrilling and action-packed battle, leaving the outcome of their quest uncertain.

"Into the Storm" sets the stage for an epic journey through a world that is at once familiar and utterly strange. DG is an engaging and sympathetic protagonist, and the dazzling special effects and imaginative world-building make for a captivating viewing experience. With its blend of sci-fi and fantasy elements, Tin Man is a must-watch for fans of genre-bending adventure stories.
