  • April 23, 2021

Triple D Nation is an American television series that airs on the Food Network. In it, host Guy Fieri revisits old episodes of his previous show Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, catching up with some of the most memorable chefs and restaurants he's encountered over the years.

In season 1 episode 33, titled Nostalgic Neighborhood Nosh, Guy takes us on a tour of some of the most beloved diners in America, returning to cities he's visited in previous seasons of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives to check in on some of his old friends.

The first stop on the tour is Bizzarro Italian Cafe in Seattle, WA. This family-owned restaurant has been around since 1986, and serves up classic Italian fare with a Northwest twist. Guy catches up with owner and chef John Sundstrom, who shows him how to make a smoked duck breast with cherries and brown butter. Guy tries the dish and declares it "money."

Next up is The Eagle's Deli in Brighton, MA. This iconic diner has been a local favorite for over 50 years, serving up massive burgers and sandwiches that are so big they have to be eaten with a fork and knife. Guy chats with owner George Tsagarelis, who shows him how to make his famous ultimate pizza burger, which contains an entire pizza on top of a burger patty. Guy takes a bite and declares it "insanity."

Moving on to Chicago, IL, Guy visits Honey Butter Fried Chicken, which he first discovered during his Triple D tour of the Windy City. Owners Christine Cikowski and Josh Kulp show him how to make their signature fried chicken sandwich, which is topped with honey butter and served on a flaky biscuit. Guy, who famously loves chicken, can't get enough of this dish.

After Chicago, Guy heads to Phoenix, AZ to visit Welcome Diner, another restaurant he discovered on his Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives tour. Owner Jenn Robinson shares her recipe for the perfect chicken and waffles, which includes buttermilk-marinated chicken thighs and a crispy Belgian waffle. Guy digs in and declares it "ridiculous."

Finally, the tour ends on the East Coast, with a visit to the Big Apple. Guy returns to a restaurant he first visited over a decade ago: Joe's Pizza in Greenwich Village. Owner Pino Pozzuoli shows him how to make a classic New York-style pizza, which is charred to perfection in a coal oven. Guy takes a bite and declares it "bomb."

Nostalgic Neighborhood Nosh is a delicious trip down memory lane, with Guy Fieri revisiting some of his favorite diners, drive-ins, and dives from over the years. Fans of the show will love catching up with old friends and discovering new dishes to try at home.
