Triple D Nation: Dishes Done Right

In this episode of Triple D Nation, host Guy Fieri revisits some of his favorite Triple D (Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives) spots across the country to see how they have elevated their already delicious dishes.

First up, Guy heads to Denver, Colorado to check out a burger joint called City, O' City. This vegetarian and vegan spot made waves on the show for their epic "duck" burger made with seitan. However, since the Triple D visit, City, O' City has added a new burger to their menu that is sure to satisfy even the biggest meat-lover's cravings. Guy samples their infamous "chicken fried cauliflower" burger and it leaves him speechless.

Next, Guy travels to Fort Worth, Texas to see how a burger joint called Rodeo Goat has continued to wow diners with their unique burger creations. During their Triple D visit, Rodeo Goat was famous for their "Terlingua" burger featuring chili con carne and Fritos. However, since then, Rodeo Goat has added a new burger topped with a homemade sloppy joe sauce that has everyone talking. Guy tries it out and declares it "dynamite".

Now, it's off to Wailuku, Hawaii to see how a little diner called Tasty Crust has evolved since their Triple D feature. Known for their pineapple upside-down pancakes, Tasty Crust has stepped up their game with a new french toast creation that even Guy is impressed with. Topped with macadamia nuts and caramel sauce, this dish has rapidly become a customer favorite.

Back on the mainland, Guy heads to Boulder, Colorado to visit a brewpub called Mountain Sun. During their Triple D appearance, Mountain Sun was famous for their homemade hot dogs topped with green chili sauce. Since then, Mountain Sun has added a "Bahn Mi" sandwich to their menu that is made with pork belly, pickled vegetables, and their signature spicy mayo. Guy gives it a try and says it "captures all the flavors of a traditional Bahn Mi".

Finally, Guy visits Millbrae, California to see how Fattoria e Mare, an Italian restaurant, has elevated their menu since appearing on Triple D. Known for their "lamb cigars" which are lamb-stuffed phyllo pastries, Fattoria e Mare now offers a new dish that has become a hit with regulars. The dish is called "Paccheri con Ragu di Mare" and it features jumbo shrimp, calamari, clams and mussels tossed with fresh pasta in a hearty tomato sauce. Guy tries it out and says it's "like taking a trip to the Mediterranean".

Throughout the episode, Guy catches up with the restaurant owners and chefs to see what inspired them to add new dishes to their menus and how their restaurants have changed since appearing on Triple D. It's a heartwarming look at the passion and creativity behind some of America's best restaurants.
