Ep 6. The Sky is Falling

The Sky is Falling is the sixth episode of the first season of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. It begins with a strange phenomenon occurring on the Seaview, the submarine belonging to the Nelson Institute of Marine Research. The crew suddenly experiences a heavy impact and a bright flash of light. The crew sets out to find the source of the magnetic force, with the help of a group of Eskimos who witnessed the initial impact.

As they travel deeper into the Arctic, they discover a hidden base belonging to an enemy power. The base is equipped with a machine that is causing the magnetic force, but the crew soon realizes that the enemy will not give up without a fight. Admiral Nelson and Captain Crane courageously infiltrate the base, while the rest of the crew attempts to hold off the enemy's attack.

Once inside, Admiral Nelson and Captain Crane discover that the enemy is planning to launch a missile containing the element into space, where it will create a magnetic field that will knock out all electronic devices on Earth. With the help of Dr. Wilson and the Seaview's crew, they successfully destroy the missile and put an end to the magnetic force.

In the aftermath, the Seaview returns to port, with Admiral Nelson and Captain Crane receiving praise for their bravery and ingenuity. The episode ends with the crew contemplating the fact that they narrowly avoided a major disaster, and that there may be many other unknown threats to the safety of the world waiting to be discovered.
