The mother and calf eventually reach a cliff overlooking a vast plain. In the distance, they see a massive creature with claws so large that they extend beyond its body. This is the creature that they have been searching for: a giant theropod, a massive carnivore that easily dwarfs the Allosaurus.

As they watch, the giant theropod engages in a fierce battle with a rival. The Diplodocus are stunned by the ferocity of the fight, as the two creatures exchange blows and bites. In the end, the giant theropod emerges victorious.

Though the mother and calf are awed by the giant theropod, they realize that it is too dangerous to get any closer. They retreat to the safety of the forest, where they are reunited with the rest of their herd.

As the episode ends, the narrator reminds viewers that while the Diplodocus and other prehistoric creatures may have disappeared long ago, their legacy lives on in the animals living today.
