In season four of Worst Cooks in America, the competition is tougher than ever as the contestants are deemed "The Worst of the Worst." In the season premiere, the fourteen contestants enter the kitchen for their first challenge, which requires them to make their signature dishes. The judges, Anne Burrell and Bobby Flay, are appalled by the lack of basic cooking knowledge and skills displayed by the contestants, who without a doubt, live up to their title as the worst cooks in America.

First up is Team Anne's contestant Nino, who serves up a pork chop that is raw on the inside and burnt on the outside. The judges are disgusted by the undercooked meat and lack of seasoning.

Next, Shayna from Team Bobby presents her "famous" spaghetti and meatballs, which turns out to be a plate of overcooked pasta with no sauce and burnt meatballs. Bobby calls it a "meatball disaster," and Anne agrees, stating that the dish is inedible.

Kaitlyn from Team Anne attempts to make pan-fried chicken, but ends up with a greasy mess that is undercooked on the inside. The judges question her choice of seasoning, as her chicken is bland and lacks any flavor.

Team Bobby's Frederick presents his shrimp and grits dish, which fails miserably. The shrimp is overcooked and rubbery, and the grits are thin and flavorless. Anne tells him that his dish is "basically garbage" and that he needs to go back to the basics.

The judges continue to be disappointed as they taste each contestant's dish. Melissa from Team Bobby's enchiladas are given a failing grade, while Team Anne's Nicholas serves up a dry and overcooked pork tenderloin.

Kelsey from Team Bobby attempts to impress the judges with her surf and turf dish, but it turns out to be a disaster. The steak is tough and overcooked, and the shrimp is undercooked and flavorless. Bobby tells her that her dish is a "textural nightmare."

The competition heats up as the judges deliberate and choose the worst dish of the day. They announce that Melissa's enchiladas were the worst, and she is sent to the elimination challenge.

In the elimination challenge, Melissa must create a beautiful and flavorful fruit tart. With the help of her mentor, Bobby, she learns the basics of tart making and attempts to redeem herself from the first challenge. However, the pressure is on as the judges taste each tart and critique the presentation and taste. In the end, the judges decide who will be sent home, and tensions rise as the contestants realize that one of them will be eliminated from the competition.

Overall, this episode sets the tone for the season as the contestants are challenged to step out of their comfort zones and learn the basics of cooking. The judges are tough but fair, and the contestants are clearly in need of their guidance. With more challenges to come, the contestants will have to step up their game in order to avoid elimination and win the title of "Most Improved Cook."
