In X-Men Evolution season 2 episode 5 "Beast of Bayville," the focus is on Hank McCoy, aka Beast, who is struggling to come to terms with his appearance and animalistic tendencies. In the opening scene, we see Beast working on an invention while listening to a radio report about a beast-like creature terrorizing Bayville. Beast becomes increasingly agitated with the radio report and eventually throws it across the room.

The episode then transitions to Beast walking around the X-Mansion, feeling isolated and alone due to his appearance and inability to control his animalistic instincts. He ends up in the Danger Room, where Professor Xavier is testing his abilities by throwing various obstacles his way. Beast passes with flying colors, but still feels frustrated with himself.

Meanwhile, the other X-Men are dealing with their own issues. Kitty is trying to balance schoolwork with her duties as an X-Man, while Rogue is struggling with her inability to touch others without hurting them. The two of them end up taking a break outside, where they see a news report about the beast-like creature attacking a power plant in Bayville.

The next morning, the X-Men gather to discuss what to do about the beast. Beast, feeling guilty about his outburst the previous day, suggests that he go and investigate the creature. The rest of the X-Men are hesitant, but ultimately agree to let him go.

Once in Bayville, Beast discovers that the creature is actually a mutated human who had been exposed to a dangerous chemical. The mutant, named David, is being pursued by a group of men who want to use him for their own nefarious purposes. Beast decides to protect David and bring him back to the X-Mansion.

Upon returning to the X-Mansion, Beast hides David in the Danger Room and goes to speak with Professor Xavier about what to do next. Xavier suggests that they take David to a hospital, but Beast is hesitant due to the fact that he would be subjected to numerous tests and experiments. The two of them argue, with Beast insisting that they find a way to cure David.

Meanwhile, the group of men who were pursuing David find their way to the X-Mansion and attack, hoping to capture David. The X-Men fight back, with Beast tapping into his animalistic side and unleashing a powerful attack on their attackers. In the end, the X-Men are victorious and David agrees to go to the hospital to receive treatment.

The episode concludes with Beast reflecting on his own struggles and how David's situation has helped him to better understand himself. He realizes that he is more than his appearance and that his animalistic tendencies can actually be used for good.

Overall, "Beast of Bayville" is a touching and action-packed episode that explores themes of self-acceptance and the power of difference. Beast's journey is particularly poignant, as he wrestles with his appearance and finds a new sense of self-acceptance through helping David. The action sequences are also top-notch, with the X-Men facing off against a formidable foe and using their powers in creative ways. Fans of the show will not be disappointed by this episode.
