Ep 6. Carrera de Bienvenida

Yowamushi Pedal season 1 episode 6, titled "Carrera de Bienvenida," opens with our protagonist Onoda arriving at school and finding out that the Inter-High qualifiers will be held in three weeks. Onoda is happy to report that he can now ride up short hills without stopping, while Imaizumi has been training hard on his speed. The two continue their practice and eventually come across Teshima, a member of their school's cycling team.

Teshima challenges Onoda and Imaizumi to a race, which they accept. The three of them start off together, but soon Teshima falls behind. Onoda and Imaizumi continue on, but they are surprised to see Teshima catch up to them. Teshima has been holding back his speed, waiting for the opportune moment to overtake them.

The three of them continue to race neck-and-neck, and they soon reach a steep hill. Onoda, who has been struggling with hills, struggles to keep up. But Imaizumi encourages him, reminding him of how far he has come and telling him to never give up.

As they near the finish line, Teshima makes his move and overtakes the other two. But Onoda surprises everyone when he suddenly speeds up and overtakes them both, winning the race. Everyone is impressed with Onoda's progress, and Teshima invites him and Imaizumi to join the school team and participate in the Inter-High qualifiers.

The episode ends with Onoda and Imaizumi happily accepting the invitation, excited to see what the future holds for them.
