Straw Dogs

After moving to Blackwater, Mississippi where his wife Amy grew up to rebuild her late father's house David Sumner begins to finish the script he's been working on. David hires Amy's ex-boyfriend and his friends to fix the barn's roof that had been badly damaged due to inclement weather of a hurricane. David also meets a former football coach and finds out that the coach's daughter is attracted to a mentally handicapped local named Jeremy. The coach bullies Jeremy for suspicions of stalking his daughter for a crime he may or may not have committed in the past.

Amy's ex starts wreaking havoc for them both, playing loud music so as to disturb David from his work. Making crude remarks towards Amy. The group breaks into the couple's house while they're out and strangle their cat. David immediately suspects them but is too afraid to confront them so instead Amy confronts them.

While away on a hunting trip with some friends Amy is raped by both her ex and one of his friends after forcing their way into her home. She tries to fight them off but they are too strong for her. When David returns home Amy doesn't speak about the rape but David lets her know that he had been abandoned in the woods. The next day he fires the men from working on the barn. After another encounter with her ex at a football game, Amy tells David she wants to return to Los Angeles which surprised him and he accidentally runs over Jeremy.

They take him to their home and call the police and the coach and the friends of Amy's ex show up and it's a battle to the end while they protect Jeremy and themselves from the men. Norman the other person who raped Amy threatens to kill her when he gains access to the house and doesn't notice that she has grabbed a shotgun. She shoots and kills him. Towards the end David is left standing on the front porch watching the barn burn down and he lets the authorities know as they show up that he got them all.
