Alias Smith And Jones is a Western TV series that aired from 1971 to 1973. It starred Pete Duel and Ben Murphy as two outlaws, Hannibal Heyes and Kid Curry, who were trying to go straight and earn an amnesty from the governor. In the first season, episode 1, also titled Alias Smith and Jones, we are introduced to Heyes and Curry as they plan a heist in a small Western town.

The episode begins with Heyes and Curry, also known as the notorious Smith and Jones, riding into a sleepy town called Red Rock on their horses. They are on the run from the law and are looking for a place to lay low and plan their next heist. Heyes is the brains behind the operations, while Curry is the quick-draw gunslinger who can hold his own in a fight.

The two outlaws are immediately recognized by the sheriff, who puts out a wanted poster for their capture. It's not long before a group of bounty hunters arrive in town, looking to collect the reward money for bringing in Smith and Jones. Heyes and Curry quickly realize they need to come up with a plan to get out of town before they are caught.

While they are hiding out in a saloon, Heyes and Curry overhear a conversation between two men about a gold shipment that is coming through town. They see this as an opportunity to pull off a big heist and make a lot of money. They come up with a plan to steal the gold, but they need to recruit a few more men to help them pull it off.

Heyes and Curry recruit two men, Lobo and Wheat, who are also on the wrong side of the law, to help them with the heist. They plan to hijack the gold shipment as it passes through a narrow gorge outside of town.

The heist doesn't go as planned, and Heyes and Curry are forced to improvise on the spot. They are pursued by the sheriff and his posse, as well as the bounty hunters who are still looking for them. Heyes and Curry manage to outsmart their pursuers and escape with the gold.

After the heist, Heyes and Curry take the gold to a fence who specializes in selling stolen goods. They manage to sell the gold for a lot of money, and they decide to use the money to try and earn their amnesty from the governor. Heyes and Curry have a reputation for being successful outlaws, and they believe that if they can prove themselves to be valuable members of society, they can convince the governor to grant them amnesty and allow them to go straight.

Overall, the first episode of Alias Smith and Jones is a fun and exciting introduction to the two outlaws who are trying to turn their lives around. The writing is sharp and witty, and the characters are well-defined. The episode sets the stage for the rest of the series, as Heyes and Curry continue to try and earn their amnesty while avoiding capture by the law.
