Ep 17. Love Sick

Detective Nick Burkhardt is a homicide detective with a unique secret. He is a Grimm, a guardian tasked with keeping balance between humans and Wesen (mythical creatures who can transform into animals). In Grimm season 1 episode 17, Love Sick, Nick and his partner Hank Griffin investigate a string of murders that are connected to a Wesen called the Musai. The Musai is a seductive fairy who feeds on the life force of its prey through sexual encounters.

In the meantime, Nick's girlfriend Juliette is trying to plan a surprise birthday party for him. She enlists the help of Monroe and his girlfriend Rosalee, who is a Wesen apothecary. When Rosalee learns about the Musai, she shares a personal story about how her brother fell victim to the creature. Rosalee offers to help Nick and Hank create a potion that will protect them from the Musai's influence.

With the potion in hand, Nick and Hank confront the Musai at an art exhibit where she has targeted her latest victim. The Musai attempts to seduce Hank, but he resists her influence. Nick injects her with the potion, which weakens her enough for them to capture her.

At the police station, the Musai is interrogated by Nick and Hank. She reveals that she feeds on creative people because she is unable to create anything herself. She is eventually taken away by the authorities, but not before Nick realizes that she may be connected to a Wesen uprising that he has been investigating.

Meanwhile, Juliette's surprise birthday party is a success. Nick is grateful for her efforts, but he is also distracted by the investigation and his duties as a Grimm. The episode ends with Nick receiving a call from a mysterious informant who warns him that the Wesen uprising is growing stronger.
