Ep 14. Once We Were Gods

Nick Burkhardt and his friends and family face yet another challenge to their lives in the episode titled Once We Were Gods in the third season of Grimm. Danger looms as a mysterious woman from Europe appears in Portland and sets off a series of perplexing events that will leave the team on edge. The woman, Adalind Schade, is known to the group as a Hexenbiest but not as one from Europe. As the group tries to find out what she is up to, another set of events is set into motion, and Nick faces a difficult decision.

Adalind breaks into Rosalee and Monroe's shop, after Monroe confronts Adalind she knocks him out, stabs Rosalee and steals a powerful potion that they were planning to use on Nick. The potion was specially designed to suppress his powers as a Grimm to protect him from the Royals, the fight that he and his friends have been fighting for the past few years, and an inevitable show-down.

Meanwhile, in Vienna, Eric and Juliette, who has now been transformed into a Hexenbiest, are in the city exploring Eric's past, and he discovers that his ancestors had an artifact that could destroy the Wesen race, an ancient key. They are searching for this very key when they suddenly encounter a group of Wesen, and the past comes back to haunt them.

Back in Portland, as Nick begins to deal with the effects of the potion, The police call him and Hank to a murder scene. There they find a Wesen whose throat was torn out. The Wesen's wife claims that he was attacked by a wild animal that bit his throat and used its claws to retaliate against the alleged attacker. Nick realizes that the subject's throat was torn out as a Wesen, and he suspects that it was done by none other than Adalind.

Nick's bond with Juliette is continuously strained by her transformation. She is struggling with the aggression and power that comes with her newly acquired identity as a Hexenbiest. Meanwhile, Monroe's and Rosalee's injuries from Adalind's attack are life-threatening, and they are rushed to the hospital after being discovered by a concerned Wu, who had advised them to seek help.

Additionally, Nick faces a new challenge when he screens a new case only to discover that the suspect looks exactly like him. As the mystery begins to unfold, Nick must race against the clock with Hank and the forensics to figure out who this doppelganger is and why he, or she, is in Portland.

In the end, this episode of Grimm takes audiences on a rollercoaster ride of emotions with all the twists and turns. Fans are left to ponder what the Wesen race's future holds and whether the Royals are one step closer to achieving their plans. Once We Were Gods is a welcome addition to the Grimm series, packed full of drama, suspense, and intrigue that will leave you eagerly anticipating the next episode.
