In season 5 episode 5 of Restaurant: Impossible, the team is in Bishop, California to help out the Whiskey Creek Steakhouse. The owner, Dave, is struggling to keep the restaurant afloat and the team has just two days and $10,000 to turn things around.

Upon arrival, Chef Robert Irvine and designer Taniya Nayak are immediately struck by the outdated decor of the restaurant. The dark wood paneling and faded artwork give off a dingy vibe that doesn't match the upscale menu. Dave explains that the restaurant has a loyal customer base, but it's struggling to attract younger diners and tourists.

Chef Robert takes a look at the kitchen and finds that it's in just as much need of an update as the dining room. The equipment is old and inefficient, and the staff is clearly overwhelmed. Dave tells Chef Robert that he's had trouble keeping a consistent staff, and that many of his employees have left for better paying jobs at nearby ski resorts.

With just two days to make changes, Chef Robert and Taniya get to work. They scrap the old menu and come up with a new, modernized version that they hope will appeal to a wider range of diners. Chef Robert works with the kitchen staff to teach them new cooking techniques and to make the most out of the limited equipment.

Meanwhile, Taniya turns her attention to the dining room. She brings in a team to update the decor, giving the space a more modern feel that matches the new menu. She adds pops of color to the walls and updates the lighting fixtures to create a more welcoming ambiance.

As renovation day comes to a close, the team is feeling optimistic about the changes they've made. There's a new energy in the restaurant, and Dave seems confident that they'll be able to turn things around.

On day two, Chef Robert and Taniya continue to fine-tune the menu and the decor. They bring in local musicians to perform for a special grand re-opening event that they hope will draw in new customers. And Chef Robert takes Dave aside to give him some tough love and to remind him that running a successful restaurant takes hard work and dedication.

Finally, it's time for the grand re-opening. There's a line out the door as locals and tourists alike come to check out the updated space and the new menu. Dave is beaming with pride as he welcomes guests and shows off the changes.

As the episode comes to a close, Chef Robert and Taniya sit down to talk about the changes they've made. They both agree that it was a challenging two days, but that the Whiskey Creek Steakhouse is now well positioned to succeed. They hope that their hard work will inspire Dave to continue to make changes and to work to keep the restaurant fresh and relevant in the years to come.
