Showhouse Showdown was a competitive reality show that aired on the Home & Garden Television (HGTV) network from 2011 to 2013. The show was hosted by Bob Guiney, who is known for his appearances on The Bachelorette and as a co-host on daytime talk show, The Better Show.

The premise of the show was fairly simple - two professional interior designers were each given a budget of $25,000 and three days to transform identical homes that were located in the same neighborhood. The designers were randomly assigned a theme for each episode, such as "industrial chic" or "beach house living," and were also given a list of must-have items to implement into their design, such as a specific type of furniture or a particular color palette.

At the end of the three days, a panel of three judges would evaluate each designer's work and declare a winner. The winning designer not only earned bragging rights but also got to walk away with a $10,000 cash prize.

One of the unique aspects of Showhouse Showdown was that the homeowners remained completely hands-off throughout the process. They were not allowed to communicate with the designers or offer any input into the design choices. Instead, they simply had to sit back and watch as their homes were drastically transformed in just three days.

To add an extra layer of drama, both designers were given access to a shared warehouse filled with furniture, decor, and accessories. The catch was that each designer had to "sign out" each item they wanted to use, and once an item was signed out, it was off-limits to the other designer. This often led to intense competition as designers raced to grab the best pieces before their competitor could get to them.

Throughout each episode, viewers got to see the transformation of both homes unfold, with time-lapse footage showing the designers hard at work. They also got to see interviews with the designers as they explained their thought process and design choices.

In addition to the main competition, Showhouse Showdown also had a fun recurring segment called "The Perfect Match." In this segment, Bob Guiney would bring in a celebrity guest and ask them to choose between pairs of identical items, such as lamps or chairs, that had been used in both homes. The guest's choices were then compared to the decisions of the judges to see who had the better eye for design.

Overall, Showhouse Showdown was a fun and fast-paced show that offered viewers a glimpse into the world of high-stakes interior design. The competition aspect added an extra layer of excitement, while the time-lapse footage and designer interviews gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process. Bob Guiney's affable hosting style added to the overall fun nature of the show, making it a must-watch for fans of home decor and reality competition shows alike.

Showhouse Showdown is a series that is currently running and has 1 seasons (13 episodes). The series first aired on September 12, 2011.
