Ep 5. The Obsession

In season 7 episode 5 of The Dead Files titled "The Obsession," psychic medium Amy Allan and retired NYPD homicide detective Steve DiSchiavi travel to Mansfield, Ohio to investigate a case of haunting that is plaguing a family. The family have been experiencing disturbing events, from unexplained pills appearing on their kitchen counter to a strange energy that fills the house.

As Amy conducts her walk-through of the property, she senses a dark energy that has attached itself to the family. She begins to have vivid visions of a man with a twisted obsession that once lived in the area. He had an obsession with one of his victims, whom he killed in the woods nearby. Amy also discovers that there may be multiple entities in the house, including a young girl who died in the home years ago.

As Steve conducts his investigation into the history of the property, he uncovers a dark and shameful secret that has been hidden for decades. He discovers that the property was once home to a mental institution, which had a violent legacy. He also uncovers the story of a former employee of the institution who had a twisted obsession with a patient.

After sharing their findings with the family, Amy and Steve devise a plan to help rid the house of the negative energy. With the help of a shaman, they perform a cleansing ritual to free the family from the obsession that has been haunting them. During the ritual, Amy has a vision of the man who had the twisted obsession and is able to communicate with him. This helps to release the negative energy that has been trapped in the house.

In the end, Amy and Steve are able to provide closure for the family and help them move on from the haunting that has been plaguing them. The episode ends with the family feeling a sense of peace and relief, knowing that they are no longer being haunted by the past.
