Jack explains to the rest of the team what happened in 1965 and why he had to hand the children over. It is revealed that Clement was one of the children that was going to be handed over. Frobisher tries to find out what will happen to the children if they are handed over to the 456. The 456 announce that if their demands aren't met then the whole of the human race will be wiped out. With Lois' continued help the team find out what the world's leaders are going to do about the 456's demands and how the children that will be handed over will be selected. Lois tells the world leaders that Torchwood knows everything that has been discussed and if they are not let into the building then the rest of the world will be informed about what is really going on. The 456 are confronted by Jack and Ianto who insist that not one child will be handed over. Jack continues that unless the 456 leave the planet then the world's humans will be told the truth about what is happening and they will fight to the death to defend their children. The 456 refuse to leave the planet and unleash a deadly virus in the building. Ianto is overcome by the virus and dies in Jack's arms. The world leaders realise they have no choice but to continue to give into the 456's demands.

The Torchwood team are forced to set up a new temporary base and are forced to break the law to get the things they need. Gwen turns to Lois for more help in the quest to discover what is going on. Jack’s daughter and grandson’s lives are endangered when they are taken captive by the hit squad. The children of the world all point towards London and a huge pillar of fire is directed towards the capital. The children then announce the words ‘we are here’. Mr Frobisher tries to negotiate with the alien threat and find out what they want. Jack discovers why Frobisher wants him dead and learns that he has his daughter and grandson. With Lois’ help the team manage to find out more about what is going on. The 456 announce that they want 10% of the children on the planet. Clement remembers that Jack was there in 1965 and gave the 456 children then.

Gwen and Ianto find themselves having to go into hiding to avoid the government squad's action against them and their respective families. Both Gwen and Ianto are worried about what has happened to Jack. Jack's body is recovered by the hit squad and he starts to regenerate. As Gwen and Rhys make their way to London she informs him about the baby she is carrying. The children of the world all stop and chant the words 'we are coming tomorrow'. Gwen talks to Lois Habiba on the phone when she calls the government offices. Lois meets with Gwen and tells her that her boss is responsible for the attack on the Torchwood team and tells her what else she knows. To stop Jack from trying to escape his body is covered in cement. Lois tries to help Gwen get into the military complex where Jack is being held. With Ianto's help they are able to rescue Jack and free him from his concrete tomb. The government await the 456's arrival.

The Torchwood team are placed in mortal danger when they investigate a mysterious signal that is reaching out hypnotically to lure in vast groups of helpless children. Dr Rupesh PatanjaliIt becomes involved with the Torchwood team after an encounter with Jack and Ianto. It soon becomes apparent that the government are involved with the 456 and know what is going on. Jack and Ianto visit their respective families as Gwen heads to East Grimstead to speak to an adult who has been affected by what has been going on. After managing to gain Jack's trust it is revealed that Rupesh is working for the enemy and Jack is shot. After recovering Jack discovers that Rupesh has been murdered. Gwen discovers that she is pregnant. When the Torchwood base is attacked Gwen and Ianto are forced to flee leaving Jack behind.

The team investigate when a plane from 1953 lands in Cardiff after traveling through a time rift. The three people on the plane learn that they will never be able to return to their own time. All three of them make connections with different members of the Torchwood team and have to try and adjust to their new surroundings.

Eugene wakes up in the middle of the road after being hit by a car to discover that he is actually dead and also invisible to the rest of the world. He discovers that is one person he can rely on to discover the truth behind his demise and that person is Gwen. Gwen tries to find out the strange circumstances about his death.

Many murders are happening around Cardiff with Torchwood's name left behind in the blood of the victims. To try and identify who is using their name the team are forced to once again use the Resurrection Glove, reviving not only the victims but also former Torchwood team member Susie. When an error occurs in the process and Susie stays alive she manipulates Gwen into taking her to see her dad.

Tosh is befriended by a woman who seems to know every detail about her. She gives Tosh is a pendent which allows her to read people's thoughts, a gift that becomes a vicious burden for the girl. To try and break the curse, Tosh is forced to smuggle the woman into Torchwood, where her problems continue.

Worried that a space-time rift is occurring the team heads to the Brecon Beacons to investigate some unexplainable deaths. The team find themselves split up without any means of communication and find themselves confronting an awfully terrifying enemy.

Jack runs into an old friend who is looking into sightings of fairies in local woods. The Pearce family seem to have a connection with the fairies. Jack realizes that he has seen these fairies nearly a 100 years ago and with his friend Estelle's help he tries to stop a tragedy from happening.

Ianto has a secret buried within the Torchwood building that nobody knows about. He hopes to restore the women who he loves back to life but when the situation gets out of control he is forced to tell the rest of the team what has been going on. The team find themselves fighting for their lives against a cyber woman.

Gwen ends up with an alien object from a young man running away. Visions of a young boy start to haunt her. The team desperately try to find the man who gave it to her as Owen disobeys orders by using it. He sees visions of a murder that happened over 40 years and learns that the murderer is still on the loose and alive.

Gwen starts working for Torchwood. The team has to track down a sex addicted alien that is on the loose. The problem is that the alien keeps changing it's appearance by using different hosts. The team try and stop it from killing anymore people.
