Rachel Khoo's Malaysia is the sixth episode of the first season of A Cook Abroad. In this episode, Rachel Khoo, a British cook and author of several cookery books, travels to Malaysia to explore the country's rich and diverse cuisine.

Rachel begins her journey in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia, where she joins forces with local foodie and blogger, Nadia Heng, to discover some of the city's most authentic dishes. Together, they visit a bustling street market and sample a variety of street food, including curry puffs, satay and laksa. Rachel is particularly taken with the laksa, a spicy noodle soup which she describes as "a party in my mouth."

Next, Rachel heads to Penang, an island off the west coast of Malaysia, which is known for its vibrant street food scene. Here, Rachel meets up with foodie and guide, Pearly Kee, who takes her on a tour of the city's famous hawker centers. They try a range of dishes, from char kway teow, a stir-fried noodle dish, to popiah, a fresh spring roll filled with vegetables and served with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce. Rachel is impressed with the range of textures and flavors in each dish and marvels at the skill of the street vendors.

For her main course, Rachel heads to the home of a local family to learn how to make nasi lemak, a fragrant coconut rice dish served with various accompaniments such as spicy sambal, crispy fried anchovies, and boiled eggs. Rachel is excited to learn how to make this iconic dish from scratch and is impressed by the precision and skill required to cook each element perfectly.

Rachel's final stop on her Malaysian culinary adventure is the island of Langkawi, where she samples the unique flavors of Malay cuisine. Rachel meets up with local chef, Yogi, who takes her to a local fish market to pick out seafood for their meal. They then head back to Yogi's kitchen to prepare a delicious fish curry, made with freshly caught mackerel and a range of aromatic spices such as cumin and coriander. Rachel is impressed by the depth of flavor in the curry, which Yogi describes as "soulful food."

Throughout the episode, Rachel is struck by the diversity and complexity of Malaysian cuisine, which draws on Malay, Chinese, and Indian influences, as well as the country's unique history and geography. Rachel comes away from her journey feeling inspired and eager to explore more of the world's culinary riches.
