In A Haunting season 1 episode 3, entitled "Echoes From the Grave," viewers are taken to a beautiful colonial home in New Jersey. The house was built in 1810 and has become a haven for the living and the dead. The episode opens with real-life footage of the homeowners, the Mercado family, discussing how they've experienced strange occurrences since moving into the home. Mr. Mercado describes feeling as though someone is watching him while he's in the house, while Mrs. Mercado explains that she's been woken up several times to what she describes as a woman's whisper in her ear.

As the episode unfolds, we learn that the Mercados have enlisted the help of paranormal investigators to determine what's haunting their home. Footage from the investigators' initial visit is shown, which includes them taking temperature readings and recording sound waves. When they review the evidence, it's clear that something strange is happening in the home. They capture an EVP (electronic voice phenomenon) that says the words "help me" and also note a dramatic shift in temperature, which they believe is a sign that a spirit is present.

The investigators theorize that the ghost in the home could be the woman who owned the house in the 1800s. She had three children and fell into a deep depression when her husband passed away. There are reports that she took her own life in the home, and the paranormal investigators believe that she has never left. They decide to conduct a seance in the home to try and communicate with the other side. The seance is intense, with the Mercado family and the paranormal investigators joining hands and calling out to the spirit in the room. They receive several clear signs that the ghost is present, including the candles flickering, doors opening and closing, and an unexplained gust of wind blowing through the room.

The homeowners are understandably shaken by these experiences and decide to call in a medium to help them understand what's going on in the home. The medium is able to communicate with the ghost and helps the Mercado family understand that she's stuck in the home and doesn't want to leave her family behind. The medium also reveals that there is a darker force in the home that's been taking advantage of the ghost's presence. They refer to this force as a "demon," and explain that it's feeding off the ghost's energy. The medium performs a cleansing ritual in the home, which seems to help alleviate some of the paranormal activity.

As the episode comes to a close, we see the Mercado family expressing relief that they're able to coexist with their ghostly roommate. They continue to experience occasional paranormal activity, but are no longer scared of what's happening in their home. The episode ends with footage of the family sitting down to dinner and the spirits in the home seemingly at peace.

Overall, the episode "Echoes From the Grave" offers an intriguing look at the lengths people will go to when they suspect their home is haunted. The use of real-life footage and interviews with the family make the episode feel more authentic, and the paranormal activity captured by the investigators is sure to send shivers down the viewer's spine. The medium's presence in the episode also adds a level of legitimacy, as her insights into the ghost's presence and the sinister force in the home provide a new, intriguing perspective. Fans of A Haunting and the paranormal genre will find a lot to enjoy in this particularly eerie episode.
