In "I Killed the Count," the second part of a two-episode storyline, we again follow the story of Harold Potter, a mild-mannered Englishman who accidentally kills a Hungarian count while on a trip to Europe. Harold manages to conceal the count's body, but the guilt and stress of the situation begin to take their toll on him.

As Harold returns to London, he begins to suspect that he is being followed. He becomes increasingly paranoid, convinced that someone knows what he has done and is out to get him. His nerves are further frayed when he receives a letter from the count, which seems to indicate that the man is still alive and on his way to London to seek revenge.

Harold's mental state continues to deteriorate as he tries to avoid detection by the police and whoever might be pursuing him. He becomes increasingly unhinged, haunted by the specter of the man he has killed, and begins to see hallucinations of the count everywhere he goes.

As the tension builds, Harold's paranoia is revealed to be well-founded - someone is indeed after him. But the situation is not quite what it seems, and as the truth is finally revealed, Harold must confront the consequences of his actions and the true nature of the people around him.

"I Killed the Count" is a classic example of the kind of tense, psychological thriller that made Alfred Hitchcock Presents such a beloved program. The episode is expertly paced, building tension and suspense with each passing scene, and featuring a standout performance from its lead actor. As with many of the best entries in the series, the true horror of the story comes not from supernatural or otherworldly threats, but from the very human fears and frailties of its protagonist.
