America's Best Dance Crew
Each week of the series, dance crews are given music to dance to from a particular musician or band. The music is usually part of the pop or hip-hop genres. The singer or band tape videos with their instructions to dance crews about the song choice that they will dance to and some particular challenge. The challenge may be incorporating some type of dance move or giving some type of visual choreographic effect. The cameras record each dance crew receiving its challenge, working on choreography and dancing in front of a live stage during the competitions. As teams are eliminated from the competition, footage is shown of the crew's best moments and final performance.
The dances typically include three minutes of a rehearsed dance. Crews are typically larger with up to 15 dancers on the crew. Smaller crews may consist of 5 or more dancers. Members of dance crews may be all the same gender, such as an all boy group or all girl group, are they may be mixed gender. The dances may incorporate various types of dance moves, but forms of break dancing are a common occurrence. The crews may also incorporate gymnastics and other styles of dancing. The dance crews continue to compete each week until there are two remaining crews. The winning crew receives a $100,000 grand prize to support their crew and its progress in the industry.
America's Best Dance Crew features talented young dance crews that continue to show a creative spirit during competitions.
