AMO is a Filipino crime drama series that premiered on Netflix in 2017. The show revolves around the story of a teenage high-schooler named Joseph, who gets involved with a drug dealer named Bungo. Joseph becomes addicted to drugs and recruits his friend, Kahil, to join him. Eventually, the two of them become embroiled in the violent and dangerous world of drug dealing.

As the story progresses, Joseph and Kahil get in deeper and deeper with Bungo and his gang. They start to realize the true cost of their addiction, both in terms of the harm they are doing to themselves and to those around them. Meanwhile, a police officer named Joaquin and his team are working to take down Bungo and his drug empire.

The show is anchored by a strong cast, led by Derek Ramsay as Bungo. Ramsay gives a nuanced and complex performance, portraying the villain as both menacing and sympathetic. Vince Rillon and Allen Dizon also turn in excellent performances as Joseph and Joaquin, respectively. Rillon does an excellent job portraying the character's descent into addiction, while Dizon brings a sense of gravitas and authority to his role as the determined police officer.

In addition to the main plotline revolving around drug dealing and addiction, AMO also explores several other themes, including corruption within the police force, the impact of poverty on communities, and the way that violence begets violence. The show does an excellent job of weaving these themes together, building a complex and multi-layered narrative that keeps the viewer engaged throughout.

One of the most impressive aspects of the show is its visual style. The cinematography is stunning, with a combination of stark, naturalistic lighting and fluid, inventive camera movements. The show is also unafraid to take risks with its visuals, using a variety of techniques to convey the emotions and experiences of its characters.

Overall, AMO is a compelling and nuanced crime drama that is well worth checking out. The show offers a fresh perspective on the world of drug dealing and addiction, exploring the complex social and psychological issues that underlie these problems. With a strong cast, impressive visual style, and well-crafted narrative, AMO stands out as one of the best crime dramas in recent years.
