When a case representing the rights of a young girl in foster care is assigned to Nina, she is overjoyed to take on a cause that could make a real difference in someone's life. However, her excitement quickly turns to dread when she realizes that her opponent in the case is Trent, one of her ex-boyfriends and a notoriously ruthless attorney.
As she prepares for the court battle ahead, Nina is forced to confront both her personal history with Trent and the systemic injustices that have put her client in such a vulnerable position. With the help of her coworker Phil, Nina navigates the legal complexities of the case while trying to keep her emotions in check.
Meanwhile, Carlos continues to feel underappreciated at the firm and decides to take matters into his own hands by organizing a team-building exercise for the staff. However, his efforts are met with mixed reactions and unintended consequences.
As the case reaches its conclusion, Nina must make a difficult choice between doing what is legally right and what is morally just. With her client's future on the line, Nina must rise to the occasion and prove herself as a formidable advocate for justice.
