Bleach 135 follows the story of Ichigo Kurosaki, a teenager with the ability to see ghosts. After being given the powers of a Soul Reaper, he must fulfill his duties to protect the living world from evil spirits and guide the departed souls to the afterlife.

Eventually, Ichigo realizes that the creature's weakness is the spirit of the object from which it drew its power. He uses his powers to locate the spirit of the object and destroys it, causing the Bakkouto to disintegrate. With the immediate crisis averted, the group regroups and continues their investigation into the traitor.
