Blood-C is an anime, or Japanese animation series, that blends teenage life with the supernatural. The main character, Saya Kisaragi, seems to be a normal girl. Although she has many friends, Saya is often considered to be polite to the point of absurdity. She is also very clumsy. Saya's sweet but frustrating personality often causes problems for her. She can never say no to anyone. In addition, she always seems to be hurrying from place to place. She is often late or flustered. In actuality, Saya has a dark secret. For many years, Saya's father, Tadayoshi, has been teaching Saya to fight with a sword. Saya is now an expert sword fighter and she often puts her skills to good use. On a daily basis, Saya fights and defeats monsters called Furukimono. The Furukimono often come into Saya's home town and it is Saya's job to defend her friends and neighbors from attacks. Saya's job is dangerous and frightening. To make matters worse, Saya often forgets what happens after she defeats a Furukimono. As the story progresses, Saya's memory lapses occur more and more frequently. Soon, Saya is forgetting even the things she holds most important. She can no longer remember what her deceased mother was like. As Saya's memory deteriorates and her life begins to spiral out of control, she starts to question her role in the world. It seems that there are mysterious forces at work and Saya is determined to uncover the secret story behind her own life. However, she will first need to figure out who she really is and what her place should be. With the help of her friends, Saya begins uncovering shocking secrets that will turn her world completely upside-down.
