In the first episode of Blood-C season 1, titled "O Ye Winds of Heaven," we are introduced to Saya Kisaragi, a cheerful and energetic high school student who lives in the quiet and seemingly peaceful town of Shitori. From the start, we see that Saya is not an ordinary girl -- she's agile, athletic and has exceptional sword fighting skills. She uses these skills to defeat a mysterious creature known as a "Elder Bairn," which comes out at night to feed on the townspeople.

As Saya goes about her day-to-day life, we see that she is also accompanied by a talking dog named Fumito Nanahara, who warns her about the presence of the Elders and urges her to protect the town from them. A new transfer student named Tokizane Shinichiro also joins her class, and it's clear that he has taken an interest in Saya.

The episode takes a dark turn when Saya encounters a group of people who have been infected by the Elders. We see these people transform into grotesque creatures and attack her. Saya's strength and determination are put to the test in a tense and thrilling battle.

Throughout the episode, we see glimpses of Saya's past, hinting at a hidden and tragic backstory that has yet to be fully revealed. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, leaving us eager to know more about Saya's secret past and her continued battles against the Elders.
