Watch Breaking Amish: Brave New World

Breaking Amish: Brave New World is the spinoff series that follows up on the original Breaking Amish series. The concept of the show is a chronicle of the lives of young Amish members who have reached a crossroads in their life. The majority of Amish teens and young adults reach a time in their life, typically around the age of 14, when they make the decision to be fully baptized in the Amish church. The majority tend to wait until they are slightly older before making the choice, and before this happens they head out on what is called Rumspringa. Breaking Amish: Brave New World follows five Amish young men and women who range in age between 21 and 33 who have yet to experience life outside of their Amish families, farms and lifestyle. This is where the adolescents embark on that rite of passage of Rumspringa and are allowed by the elders in the Amish community to put their Amish ways and beliefs aside until they make their final choice. This is a heartfelt, sometimes funny and serious process as these Amish men and women are making a life decision that will alter their destiny. This is because while they are out in the new world they will see, taste, touch and experience things that they have never been exposed to and many just simply become increasingly enthralled in non-Amish ways. It is through the process that one learns whether they prefer the stoic, religious and very strict ways of the Amish or if their time in the Brave New World has convinced them that they were born to be part of that much more free, fun and chaotic life that lies outside of the confines of the Amish community. Breaking Amish: Brave New World is a show that gives one a glimpse in to the very private lives of the Amish and also shows how young adults who have been shielded and sheltered from the outside world respond, react and overreact to life in a manner that is against almost all of the traditions and rules they have been taught.
