Car Warriors is a reality TV show depicting car restoration as a competition. Each week a different crew of mechanics and body specialists are featured in restoring a piece of junk vehicle and must restore it to a working custom vehicle that looks brand new. These teams competing are considered to be some of the best car restoration teams within the United States. This television show debuted in 2011 with a teams competing against each other to build the best looking and running car in only 72 hours (3 days) from start to finish. Each team was given the junky non-functioning car without choosing their own vehicle making the challenge even harder. However the teams competing against each other each week had the same make and model of car as the other to help equalize the competition. Crews were allowed to make their own choice in restoring and rebuilding the vehicle mechanically and in artistry. The better the work the more likely they were to impress the judges and to win. Judges on Car Warriors themselves are also considered to be All Star specialists in their respective fields in car restoration, especially for classic cars and trucks. Season two of Car Warriors in 2012 brought new challenges to the show to make the teams competing against each other more difficult. The most prominent part of changing up in the show was decreasing the amount of time to complete a restoration from 72 hours down to 48 hours (2 days). This decreased the 30% of time allowed for the crews to finish their project. New judges were also featured in the second season who were more critical of the restoration work than previously. The working production team behind Car Warriors also changed giving the second season a slightly different feel from the first. Car Warriors does not focus on the details of the mechanics and artistry of the repairs and restoration of the assigned vehicles. Rather the focus is on the interaction of team members which helps only to increase the popularity of the show itself.
