In season 1 episode 3 of Car Warriors, titled "All Stars vs. LDRSHIP Designs," two teams compete to create the ultimate muscle car. The All Stars team is led by car builder and designer Bryan Fuller, known for his work on television shows like Overhaulin’ and Two Guys Garage. His team members are also experienced car builders who have made names for themselves in the automotive industry.
Opposing them is the LDRSHIP Designs team, a group of active-duty soldiers based at Fort Hood in Texas. The team is made up of six members who have been selected for their interest in cars and skill in mechanics. Their leader, Sergeant First Class James Gibson, is a veteran of the Iraq War and a skilled mechanic who has won numerous awards for his car builds.
Both teams are given one week to transform a stock 2010 Chevrolet Camaro into a high-performance muscle car. The cars will be judged on criteria such as horsepower, handling, and overall appearance. The winning team will take home a $15,000 prize, while the losing team will have their car crushed in the junkyard.
The All Stars team is confident in their abilities and begins tearing into the Camaro almost immediately. They install a custom supercharger, an upgraded suspension system, and a high-flow exhaust system to improve the car's performance. Their goal is to create a car that not only looks good but can also dominate on the track.
The LDRSHIP Designs team, on the other hand, takes a more measured approach. They spend the first few days carefully planning out their modifications and deciding on the best parts to install. Their main focus is on improving the car's handling, as they believe that this will give them an edge in the competition. They install a new suspension system, including new springs, struts, and sway bars, as well as upgraded brakes and a new exhaust.
As the deadline approaches, tensions run high on both teams. The All Stars team encounters several setbacks, including a faulty transmission and a blown engine. They work tirelessly to repair the car, but time is running out. Similarly, the LDRSHIP Designs team struggles with their modifications, with some members feeling that they may have taken on too much.
Finally, the day of the competition arrives. The cars are put through their paces on a test track, with judges evaluating their performance and appearance. Both cars impress the judges with their speed and handling, but it quickly becomes clear that there can only be one winner.
In the end, the winning team is announced to a tense crowd. The victors take home the $15,000 prize, while the losing team watches as their car is crushed in the junkyard. Despite the high stakes and intense competition, both teams walk away with a newfound appreciation for each other's skills and abilities.
