Classroom Crisis is a Japanese anime series set in the future where corporations have taken over the education system in Japan. The show follows the students and staff of A-TEC, an advanced technology education center. In episode 2 of season 1, titled "Classroom Downsizing," the students and staff are faced with a difficult situation as the school prepares for budget cuts.

The episode opens with A-TEC's director, Kaito Sera, informing the students that the school will be undergoing a major restructuring due to budget cuts. As a result, the school will be downsizing and closing certain departments, which could potentially lead to the termination of several teachers.

The students and staff are devastated by the news, but they are determined to find a way to keep the school operational. They brainstorm ideas on how to improve the school's reputation in order to secure more funding and avoid the cuts.

Meanwhile, Nagisa Kiryuu, one of the students in the aerospace engineering department, becomes even more determined to make a breakthrough in their research project. She is particularly focused on developing a new engine that could revolutionize space travel.

As the students continue to work on their projects, they are visited by a representative from the company that funds their research. He informs them that their project is on the chopping block and unless they can demonstrate significant progress, it will be terminated along with their department.

Kaito Sera, who is also the CEO of their sponsor company, is torn between his duties as the head of the school and his responsibilities to the corporation. He struggles with finding a solution that will keep the school open while also satisfying the demands of the company's board.

The tension comes to a head during a presentation to the company's board of directors. The students present their research and their progress, impressing some members of the board. However, one board member is unimpressed and urges Kaito to shut down the department.

In the end, it is up to Kaito to make a difficult decision. He ultimately chooses to keep the school open, but not without making sacrifices. Some of the teachers are terminated, and the remaining staff and students are forced to restructure and work together to keep the school going.
